| Hearts are all around. |
Well here we are at the end of week one, still buzzing. The first thing I've had to do is my own definition of line with pictures to illustrae what I mean. Can't really show what I have done so far as it's still WIP although I think I have all the information. Possiably going to use Henri Rousseau to do my line drawing exercises from, so the next thing I have to do is a "small potted history". Have bought the recommended pencils and sketchbook for the next drawing section, which if I am honest is the bit that worries me the most I did A level art 25 years ago but I was not very good even back then and only scraped a pass, hey ho would be boring if it was easy. I am going to collect all my information and do all the exercises then put it all together at the end of the module.
Along side this I have finished an online child protection training refresher. Rather odd, I found this more distressing doing it on line than I did last time in a class, back to the classroom next time it is due I think. I am due an Ofsted inspection any minute also so am making sure all my paperwork is tight and up to date which is the very boring part of the job.
As I had nothing to show you from the course I have put a picture of the block I completed last night for the hearts all around wall hanging I showed you some of in an earlier post. It is ment to have suffok puffs between the four hearts on the bias strip but having done a few for other blocks I have found I am not that keen on how they look so have left bare at the moment may find some buttons when I get to the quilting stage. That's it for me this week Line Portfolio here I come......

Just finished my line portfolio yesterday - just two blocks to do before I send images in - are you as nervous as me? I feel full of fear!
ReplyDeleteWell done you, would love to see. Who did you use as your drawing insperation? Your work is stunning and I am sure you have nothing to worry about not that that will stop you I know. I am feeling not so much fear more.... am I doing this right? I have a nasty habbit of going off on my own little way which is not necessarly the way intended by anyone trying to teach me! Was told by one trainer (in retail) that I was a creative thinker, she was a lovely lovely lady and I think she was just being kind and really ment I was a prize pain in the bum! Ha Ha I am sure the fear will kick in when I get to your stage. Have you heard from any tutors yet? Not quite sure how that is going to work.
ReplyDeleteI love the block Mary. Haven't done much quilting, but I tried a bit recently as my hubby bought me a new sewing machine and I wanted to make a quilted bag for one of my large lace pillows(I make bobbin lace). It's great to read your comments about 'line' as I'm working on Module 1 Craft Design Embroidery(line). It's nearly finished now ... just the A3 collage to do and then drawing done! It's been a challenge, but interesting ... bringing back lovely memories from my art classes years ago. It's good to know that other people are at a similar stage. I have a blog (for my other crafts - lace making, crochet etc), but am thinking of setting up another just for my C&G work. What do you think? I've had one email from my tutor and I emailed her back, but haven't heard anything else yet! It is a little strange and I do feel isolated at times.
